Dogwood Grove Baptist Church is a fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ, organized and founded in 1856. We are a Southern Baptist Convention fellowship, seeking to honor God in all that we do, and carry out the Great Commission of Christ as found in Matthew 28:19-20.
Membership:
DGBC accepts membership by profession of faith in Jesus Christ and baptism by immersion, or by letter of membership from a church of like faith. If you would like more information on becoming a member, please speak with our Pastor or one of our church leaders.

Rev. Todd Burr
Senior Pastor
Rev. Todd Burr has served as Senior Pastor at DGBC since 1998. He has been in the ministry for over 30 years and holds a BA degree with a major in Religious Studies from Samford University. Brother Todd and his wife Kari live in Montevallo and have two children, Taylor and Alli.
Kari Burr
Director of Music
Kari Burr has a true passion and love for music that uplifts and brings glory to the name of Jesus through worship. As the Director of Music for DGBC, she plans the music for all weekly worship services, works closely with the worship leader organizing the rehearsals for the Adult Sanctuary Choir, leads the Children’s Choir, and manages/guides all music ministries within the church. She has been the pianist for the church since 1998 and accepted the call to become the Director of music in 2017. She is married to the pastor, Rev. Todd Burr, and resides in Montevallo.
Tena Niven
Worship Leader
Tena Niven serves as the worship leader at DGBC. She works closely with the Director of music to bring an authentic experience of praise and worship to our Heavenly Father each Sunday, and assists in rehearsals for the Adult and Children’s Choir. Tena is single and resides in Montevallo with her two beagles, Sully and Jackson.
Nathan Grisham
Youth Director
Nathan Grisham has served at DGBC since 2011. After serving six years as the Children’s Director, he then became the Youth Director. Nathan accepted the call to ministry in 1998 and has over 24 years’ experience in serving the Lord. He obtained a business degree from Faulkner University in 2001. Nathan and his wife Missy have two children, Maddie and Tripp, and live in Calera.
Matthew Allen
Children’s Director
Matthew Allen accepted the call to ministry in 2016 and has served as a volunteer in Youth and Children’s ministries until becoming the Children’s Director in 2022. He is currently studying Psychology at the University of West Alabama and lives in Thorsby.
